I write songs, I sing them... I play the piano and a little bit of the guitar.. I've released 5 albums of music, I love the scent of freshly fallen rain and the scent of lavender on bedsheets. I would drink tea all day long if the caffeine didn't keep me up at night. I hate driving in L.A traffic. I would love to one day catch the squirrel that steals the plums from my tree and make him a pet. I don't watch TV anymore. My 3 year old daughter is more entertaining than any TV show could ever be :)

Hope...and one last song for summer.

There's change in the wind.
I can feel it as the whispery clouds waft across the
sky and the wind starts to feel a little chilly on my skin.

I love fall. I can feel it coming around the corner.
It's the most introspective time of the year for me, when
the cheeriness of summer starts to change to the mellow
soothing caress of the curtained sky and leaves start
putting on a new colour.

Many things have happened since the last time we were in touch.
I had a wonderful time singing in Singapore for my first
sold-out concert hall performance, I fulfilled my dream of
having a #1 album in Singapore, I sang at the Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles
and I just got 2 russian dwarf hamsters as pets.
I'm still trying to decide what to name them.

Hurricane Katrina and the memory of September 11th
adds a sense of introspection and a measure of sadness to
the daily grind of life, but I sense the hope in the air,
the hope of change for the better...I see the hope in the new, tiny
green oranges hanging in bunches on my orange tree, slowly waiting for the
spring to come alive in vibrant orange colour and grow to their fullness.

I am heartened by the stories I hear of people coming together to
help their fellow man, especially at times of crisis...stories of people
opening their houses, their hearts to help those in need. Hope and strength
and love. The seeds of many songs are being planted and will hopefully take
root and blossom with the next spring.

It feels a little funny, in the light of heavier things, to have to go out and perform and sing....
but I know that with a song in my heart, things always seem to be a little sweeter.

I'll leave you with a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow,
a poem, that speaks to me about hope, and friendship.

------------------------------
The Arrow and The Song

I shot an arrow into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For, so swiftly it flew, the sight
Could not follow it in its flight.

I breathed a song into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For who has sight so keen and strong,
That it can follow the flight of song?

Long, long afterward, in an oak
I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end,
I found again in the heart of a friend.

--------------------------------

God bless,
Corrinne.

Hey Corrinne, i'm glad to hear that you had a wonderful time in Singapore. :)

I certainly hope that those people whom lives have been affected due to hurricane Katrina, will be strong and get all the assistance that they need.

Hey,
I was reading one of your older posts about kava. I first came across that when I was in fiji. Its a mildly intoxicating drink that they brewed from roots. Im not sure if this is the same drink though. If you still remember, maybe you could give me directions to the Kava Lounge place in Santa Barabara. Enjoyed resading your blog. And your the first person ive met/seen (neither really) whos read from Pablo Neruda.
